Over 40 Years of Living Heritage & Traditional Craft
Based at Pitscandly Farm in the scenic heart of Angus, Gow Antiques is dedicated to the sensitive conservation of 18th and 19th-century furniture, fine antique sales, and sharing traditional woodworking disciplines.

Traditional Standards & Ethical Principles
- Reversible Animal Hide Glues: Ensuring all structural repairs can be reversed by future conservators without timber damage.
- Authentic Shellac & Beeswax: Hand-rubbed spirit finishes that breathe with the timber, enhancing the deep golden glow of aged grain.
- Matching Period Timbers: Sourcing antique veneers and seasoned timbers (Cuban mahogany, English walnut, rosewood) for seamless repairs.
- Patina Preservation: Never over-cleaning or sanding away the genuine historical wear and marks of time.
Jeremy Gow: Passion, Expertise & A Personal Approach
For over four decades, Jeremy Gow has dedicated his life to the art and science of antique furniture conservation. His fascination began in childhood, surrounded by period Scottish furniture and learning the tactile properties of indigenous and exotic timbers.
Jeremy’s philosophy is simple yet uncompromising: Conservation should always respect the original craftsman. Rather than stripping away the historic patina and replacing original elements unnecessarily, Jeremy utilizes reversible, museum-grade conservation methods. Every scrape, join, and French polish layer is executed with surgical precision and historical reverence.
As an accredited member of both the British Antique Furniture Restorers' Association (BAFRA) and LAPADA, Jeremy works regularly with private collectors, country houses, historical trusts, and individual families looking to preserve precious heirlooms for future generations.
The Workshop at Pitscandly Farm
Situated in the rolling countryside outside Forfar, Pitscandly Farm provides the ideal tranquil environment for painstaking conservation work. Here, ancient farm buildings have been converted into specialized conservation studios and a dedicated teaching bay.
The studio maintains an extensive archive of naturally seasoned period timbers, antique brass fittings, hand-cut locks, and rare veneers collected over four decades—ensuring that every repair uses materials contemporaneous to the original piece.
